Can I just drop in?
Yes, you may just drop-in to the regular scheduled yoga classes. If you prefer to secure your space however, you can register with MINDBODY Online Booking anytime prior to the class (directly with the studio where you will be attending). Either way, please show up 10 minutes before class to settle in and prepare yourself for this wonderful part of your day.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
It is a good idea to bring your own mat, however most studios have mats available if you forget. Using your own personal mat is preferred as it most hygienic.
What do I wear to class?
Any loose comfortable clothing that is clean and not too showy would be most fitting. Layers are always best. Please refrain from use of perfume and heavy deodorants in consideration of other class participants who may have allergies or chemical sensitivities.
Is it a good idea to eat before class?
As it would affect your exercise session, it is best not to eat within 2 hours of class time. Even then only a light meal is recommended. A full meal after class is the best way to improve your metabolism.
Do you play music during your classes?
Yes, there is typically relaxation music to enhance your yoga experience except when we are outdoors we enjoy the sounds of nature. Ultimately, individuals are encouraged to focus their attention inwards, however the background sounds are there to enjoy as you slip in and out of a deeper state of awareness.
What if the class is too easy or too difficult?
After your first class, if you are uncertain, you can ask Lori to help you determine if the class is suitable for you. You must however always listen to your body and avoid inverted postures if you have high blood pressure, are menstruating, are pregnant or have any eye, ear, nose or throat infections.
Is it O.K. to leave early, while class is still in session?
As respect to the teacher and all students in attendance, it is preferred that you commit to the full class time. The relaxation at the end of class is an important integrated part of the practice. Please schedule accordingly.
Can I get one-on-one yoga or personal assistance?
Yes, Lori is available for one on one with students to help customize their wellness needs. The first session is 90 minutes and all subsequent appointments for a yoga and/or wellness consultation are 60 minutes. Does Body Harmony Yoga support charitable organizations?
Since 2002, Body Harmony Yoga has supported various charitable organizations including Doctor’s Without Borders, The Looking Glass Foundation for Eating Disorders and Camp Moomba. In addition, for several years Body Harmony sponsored Jhonatan Quispe-Quispe through World Vision Canada. Most recently, all participants of the 2nd Annual Journey of Our Hearts program graciously donated over $1000 to help build a school in Pisac, Peru.
