JANUARY VIEWS 2010 – Resolve to Evolve

Resolve to EvolveThe approaching year of 2010 is sure to be an interesting one, even though there is a great chance you’re not an Olympian and you’re probably not aspiring to be one. In preparation for a New Year, where most of us would be happy to cultivate more of our best selves, I invite you to consider the Journey of Our Hearts – 7 Renewal Practices. It’s not about making a resolution you can’t and won’t keep, but rather it’s about making practical lifestyle enhancements, while at the same time making the world a better place. We sincerely wish to encourage a healthy and fit lifestyle you can keep, one that doesn’t just last 30 days. A lifestyle that includes cardio, yoga, resistance training, meditation and FUN too! These practices are of general benefit to you and your health, and the $20 ‘by donation’ registration fee goes to help build a schoolhouse in Pisac, Peru. Body Harmony students who complete 8 of the 10 week journey (January 4th to March 15th) will also have their name entered in a draw to win a FREE Year of Unlimited Yoga. At the studio we will be tracking our daily practices and encouraging each other through these positive lifestyle enhancements. Journey of Our Hearts offers you a realistic plan with choices, to further our personal growth and well being, as well it will help children in Peru. Special workshops are offered on Sundays to help you learn and stay on track, and we have an Orientation Evening on Friday January 8th from 7:30 – 8:30pm to find more about the program. Student of the MonthWe’re starting off the New Year with Congratulations to Larrie Cook. Larrie is one of our 12 Month Plan members whose great determination in life truly inspires. He’s an individual with consistent patience and kindness, even through lifes challenges. Larrie says, ” Yoga has kept me younger when injuries and old age were catching up to me, so my yoga practice has meant a lot to me in the past three years. Beginner Yoga From The CoreIf you have NEVER DONE YOGA you will learn fundamental back and abdominal conditioning exercises, appropriate positioning for sun salutations and improve your awareness of the core. If you HAVE DONE YOGA you will benefit from clarifying the detailed anatomy of the core, as well as pick up fine tuning techniques and core visualizations.
