With an inquisitive smile and that cute little voice she leans her face to me and asks “Do you want to build a snowman?” We live near the equator and she hasn’t seen snow in years, but I know what she means. She wants to play and create something new…
Tick tock tick tock tick tock. For two years my whole being pushed aside the idea of starting another studio. It clearly was not the time to initiate anything new, or even time to think much about it. There were brief moments of contemplation and meditation, but the melody and lyrics of “let it go, let it go” were compelling me to do just that. I trusted my creative and usually motivated self would emerge when living in this care free energy. And, as sure as the sun will rise again tomorrow morning that creative energy is again rising in me.
Although we are in the midst of research and I need to mesh the right side of my brain with the logical side, the process has begun and I am excited. Anything is possible, but I will need support and plenty of it. So, considering I am willing to commit 5-10 years of my life to this project, I would think that if you are reading this, you could at least commit 5 minutes of yours? Please complete this very important online survey now, as one step in the right direction for recreating that special community many of us so dearly miss. I am not crazy about returning to the rainy west coast weather this October, but you know what? The cold never bothered me anyway…
Much love, have a great long weekend and I look forward to seeing you this summer!

Yoga by the Beach 2015
Say yes! The fresh ocean air along with glorious views of Stanley Park, Vancouver and the occasional sail boat await us. Since 2002, Lori has indulged in sharing Mixed Levels Hatha Yoga classes at John Lawson Park in West Vancouver and she will do so again this summer.
July 14th through to August 13th, 2015
Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:30 to 11:30am
Please join us for this magical opportunity to do yoga in the park. Put on some suncreen, bring a yoga mat and beach towel, and arrive 15 minutes early (especially if you prefer a spot in the shade). The class fee is $12 cash or you may use your BHYS pass if you still have remaining classes. These mornings will surely elevate your spirit and offer moments to feel a real connection with nature…
Testimonials:
“I am never more conscious of my breath than when I am doing yoga beside the ocean. With this heightened awareness and the sounds and smells of summer all around, my practice is taken to a much deeper level of experience. Add Lori, a teacher who is very conscientious and skilled as your guide, and you are set up to embrace the best hour of your day. I cannot wait for July!”
Darlene Anderson, North Vancouver
“Yoga by the beach is such an incredible experience; the fresh air, the ocean, and the trees make it really special… The classes are really well designed for all ages and abilities. There have been days when I craved a gentle hatha class and days when I wanted more power and strength and I was always able to follow Lori’s cues to make the class what I wanted it to be. I will always arrange my schedule to attend – there isn’t anything else like it!”
