APRIL VIEWS – Yoga Practice Outdoors

TheQuest S5L3 Inspiration.202952

Yoga practice outdoors has become my absolute favorite thing. This year will be like the rest, where I openly welcome anyone who is keen to explore these flowing Hatha Yoga Classes in West Vancouver. At John Lawson Park, the back drop of the Burrard Inlet, Stanley Park, UBC and Vancouver Island await us, offering the possibility to experience it anew! The amazing feeling of moving peacefully in nature while breathing the fresh air will be one of my highlights this summer and it can be yours too. See below for more information, and for those who are interested in Yoga at Victoria Park in North Vancouver, please do let me know.

Others things that will freshen up the year for this gal are some studies at the Vancouver School of Yoga. I am compelled to delve into another branch of yoga – the world of Yoga Therapy. The idea is to be able to help students with injuries and years of ‘stuckness’ in a more intimate capacity. It is still my main interest to teach group classes, however I wish to add support for ailing bodies in a more in-depth form (both inside and outside of the classroom format). I do like it when I am able to move past the superficial ailments and enquire more personally as to the cause of what is happening! The Yoga Therapy will bring an environment where I may be able to suggest possible changes that could heal it forever, on the deepest level. Really! As well, I feel that this form of yoga will mix all the unlikely occupations I have considered in my past (everything from becoming a ‘holy sister’ to acting as a ‘law enforcement officer’) and be a wonderful step forward.

My new studies, the beach classes, and taking care of family matters will consume much time and energy this year, although I also plan to start teaching a regular yoga class or two at a small independent studio in North Vancouver. It is quite close to the old location of Body Harmony, and is a lovely, unexpected opportunity and turn of events. I will keep you posted. I had hoped to find a new studio this year, but this is what it will look like for now. All this does not change the fact that it would bring great joy and satisfaction if it was feasible to teach Yin, Hatha and Prenatal Yoga on that blue carpet once again – so I will hold that vision for the future.

This news is being sent from Peru where I am completing my Citizenship (for the sake of having a retirement option)! I have enjoyed being back in Vancouver and having the opportunity to teach yoga in a temporary location from November to March. I love connecting with former students and friends, and meeting new students and friends as well. I look forward to Beach Yoga, independent studio classes, personal yoga sessions and hopefully seeing more of you in the months to come.

Wishing you all Peace and Body Harmony, Namaste.

Lori

In an effort to bring down the monthly hydro bill for our home, I came across these 21 no cost tips to save electricity. Also, David Suzuki has some other valuable ideas for reducing the Carbon Footprint and a Nature Challenge Manual for teachers of kids aged 4 to 7. Dr. Suzuki says, “Come on Canada, it’s time to kick our bad habits and get into shape!”
