Can you remember a time you may have been holding onto ‘the idea of something’ that just wasn’t flowing? You probably didn’t feel very good. Imagine how it would have felt if you completely let go and detached from ‘the idea’ and acknowledged what actually was. Likely, the feeling would resemble that of a light feather. Surrendering to the moment and accepting ‘what actually is’ invites a feeling of harmony within. A lack of ease or ‘dis-ease’ creates illness in the mind and body. Since most of us aspire to feel harmony of mind and body, let’s embrace the concept that surrendering brings a wealth of health to ones being.
Learning to surrender takes practice though. Develop this precious skill through the arts, meditation or simply by doing things you enjoy. Instead of wanting and waiting, begin your sweet surrender exercises today.

Congratulations Erin & Sierra Wood! We are so happy to acknowledge these special students this month. It has been very inspiring to see this team join us so regularly over the last year, especially with the extra challenges life has thrown their way. The effort Erin has made to attend twice a week with Sierra is commendable (and rarely does she enter without a smile:). When asked what she likes about our studio, she writes, “I practice at Body Harmony because it is a friendly, warm environment in which I feel supported in my practice. World renowned Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh will be visiting Vancouver this month to offer insights into acheiving inner peace, as individuals and as a society. The talk will focus on removing the preoccupations that keep us stuck in habitual ways of thinking and reacting. Throughout his years of dedicated practice as a Buddhist monk, he has influenced thousands of people to engage more fully with themselves and the world at large. The afternoon will include a guided meditation and healing chant with the monks and nuns of Plum village, a collective of people dedicated to living as instruments of peace and compassion.
