The heart is the center or middle point of the human chakra system AND at the studio this week we are mid-way to accomplishing the Journey of Our Hearts! For those who are not partaking in this program, might I share that this journey is varied and unique for all of us who are taking it. Just as there are an assorted number of ways to find balance in our lives, there are as many ways to nourish the heart.
In honour and celebration of Heart Month, check in with your heart often. I recommend rubbing your palms together vigorously and then placing them open to your heart center. Feel and listen as you breathe. Be receptive and allow the communication to flow between your lower bodily system and your upper more spiritual system. Hear what arises and revere to have this practice advance your mind-body connection.
Regardless of how you work to maintain a healthy heart, understand that an abundance of love (for both giving and receiving) begins with complete and wholehearted love for yourself. Have a Happy Heart Month!
Love from us all at Body Harmony,
Lori Charko
Student of the Month
Congratulations Adrian Parker! “Wow! Student of the month, why me? It should be that we give Lori and her instructors special recognition. The studio is a wonderfully peaceful place to practice Yoga. I was introduced to the practice of yoga at Body Harmony the first year they were in business. Yoga has proven to be a wonderful complement to the two sports I still pursue; golf and downhill skiing. Yoga has made me more flexible and stronger and helped my balance. I’ve also learned to slow my mind and be in the moment, to find peace in the meditation that comes with every class.”
Developing Your Home Practice with Lori Charko
This class is great for students who have some yoga experience, and feel comfortable with basic yoga postures. We will have fun creating a yoga flow incorporating your favorite postures and personal needs. Learn how to build a safe and balanced combination of postures for your own yoga practice at home, while vacationing or when working on the road using your hand written notes. Practicing yoga is a life long venture that can be done anytime, and virtually anywhere!
Maximum 10 students. Please come prepared to practice your new flow.

Instead of red this Valentines Day, go Green! Save a tree and send an e-card or make your own valentines from recycled paper instead of store bought. Choose locally grown flowers and fair trade chocolate, or make a donation to an environmental organization in your sweethearts name!
