If talk of a guru seems a little serious, I would say “Au contraire, it’s a matter of perception.” A guru may be simply defined as “someone who removes your goo” or “a person who guides you to the light.” The Sanskrit term itself literally means heavy (implying a heaviness of knowledge), but metaphorically speaking, a guru helps to “find the heart of the artichoke” and “polish the diamond in the rough.” These folks guide us to be more heart and soul centered by bringing awareness to the light in our lives. As students of yoga, we typically see this role fulfilled by that of a spiritual mentor or yoga teacher.
What happens when your favorite teacher is ill, disappoints you in some way, or merely takes a get-a-way? Well, if you initially thought you would take a break from self growth, then there is still guidance needed and it would be wise to continue the yoga! If however, you have made yourself open to ask “what will I learn from this?”, then my friend, you are much closer to the light consciousness we are working towards.
Those who are open to personal growth will be excited to know the $99 Sweet Summer Sale is back at Body Harmony for its grand finale! For friends and family who may need some guidance, it would be easier for you to lead them to yoga, than to sit them aside and explain how you’ve noticed their awareness is a little muddled lately. This sale is a gift for everyone allowing 9 Weeks of Unlimited Yoga if purchased by June 15th. Passes may start as late as June 30th, however the sale is over mid month.
As an incentive for you to “be the light you wish to see in the world,” we will continue to give $10 referral credits for every student you bring to the studio. However, as added motivation to share the sale, if you refer 5 people and they sign up, your name will be entered to win the Sweet Summer Sale Pass or you may take the $100 credit towards a future pass. Remember folks, this is the last $99 Special.
Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to those stellar Dads out there!
Blessings,
Lori Charko
Student of the Month
Congratulations Betty Wurst, our student of the month for June! Betty is an amazing woman, inside and out. She is strong, intelligent, and loving, and brings joy to our space every time she steps onto her mat.
When asked to say a few words about her experience here at Body Harmony, she replied “My life has changed so much since joining Body Harmony. Initially I came for my physical well being, but have discovered through your yoga teachers that my spirit and mind are what need to be developed to achieve what I was looking for. I learned to breathe, or I am trying to learn to breath. You have given me so much but that seems to be what I need most.
Lori, Jen J, Nara, Nathalie; what I have learned from you is amazing. I take home with me your words of wisdom and have made them work on a daily basis. You have no idea how your inspirational words have helped me. Thank you to all my new amazing friends at the studio. I love you all, and who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? xoxoxo”
