We are closing 2021 with contentment and optimism for a new year of learning, challenges and commitments. Having just returned from traveling to spend the holidays with family in Peru, we feel blessed to be home, safe and sound after a relatively smooth trip. Moving around internationally has become quite complicated (bless my husband for completing all the technological travel details), but we had overall relaxing time which included some much needed ‘light therapy’ and ‘sacred moments’.
Our world is certainly changing, and we must change with it. The pandemic has not helped our environmental situation with all the masks, testing and avoidance of communal transportation. But let’s think positive and do what we can on our path forward. It truly matters how each of us feels, thinks and responds to what is, as we move towards a better future. A future that requires hope.
If you need to travel, use efficient modes of transportation and then do your best to conserve water and energy. Do what you can to offset your carbon footprint and of course, respect the local communities, awhile offering the locals more environmentally friendly ways of living. And, as basic as it sounds, avoid single plastic use! It is truly astonishing how even the most educated folks have yet to “tune in” to the reality of global warming.
If the last couple years has not shifted your thinking about when and where you travel, please at least consider traveling less and search out more sustainable hotels and camping/glamping options. Invest in eco-friendly travel products and find ways to minimize consumption. A minimalistic attitude is best.
May you too create sacred moments in the spaces you choose to live, work, travel and play. “Om” is where the heart is, so hold dear to all that is most important to you.
Wishing you a year of many blessings, optimal love and a connection to the light that upholds you.
