It is a good idea to have a yoga mat and a bit of cleared space to fully enjoy the class. Any style of mat will do, however the typical sticky mats used for yoga are best to give you the right amount of cushioning for floor and standing postures. Even when practicing at home, it is recommended to wipe down your mat with a natural cleaning solution or a little bit of soap and water on a regular basis.
Any comfortable exercise clothing can be used and light layers are always best. One of the wonderful things about practicing yoga online in the comfort of your space, is that you can even wear your pajamas if you really want to;)
As eating could affect your yoga session, it is best not to eat much within 2 hours of class time. Even then only a light meal is recommended. But do stay hydrated with plenty of water. After class, eating a full meal (or a handful of super foods) is the best way to improve your metabolism.
Yes, there is typically relaxation music to enhance your yoga experience. Ultimately, individuals are encouraged to focus their attention inwards, however the background sounds are there to enjoy as you slip in and out of a deeper state of awareness.
It is preferred that you commit to the full class time however you are welcome to pop on or off Zoom classes at any time. The relaxation at the end of class is an important integrated part of the practice, so please do your best to schedule accordingly.
Yes. Online yoga classes can be a helpful way to return to practice by allowing students to move, breathe, and rest at their own pace from home. Participants may turn their camera on or off and take breaks as needed.
These online yoga classes are best suited to students who feel comfortable with basic yoga postures. While prior experience is recommended, individuals with good body awareness may also find the classes accessible and enjoyable.
The class flow changes every week but it usually offers a lot options. If you feel uncertain about whether or not you are being safe in the poses, connect with Lori after class to help you determine if the class is suitable for you. A few private sessions may be just what you need to prepare for group classes. You must however always listen to your body and avoid inverted postures if you have high blood pressure, are menstruating, are pregnant or have any eye, ear, nose or throat infections.
