Online Yoga FAQs

Yes, online live Hatha Yoga Flow classes are offered Fridays at 9:30am on a drop in basis. They are booked online at The Yoga Root. Look on this schedule for the Friday class with Lori and then click the link to register on Wellness Living. Please sign up at least 30 minutes prior class and have your yoga mat ready! About 15 minutes prior you and may log on to the Wellness Living site and click the Zoom class. No special props are needed, however a cushion and strap may be helpful for those bodies that are feeling a bit stiff. Prepare yourself for a well rounded, heart warming flow. It is a good idea to have your own yoga mat and a bit of cleared space to fully enjoy the class. Any style of mat will do, however the typical sticky mats used for yoga are best to keep you from slipping. Even when practicing at home, it is recommended to wipe down your mat with a natural cleaning solution or a little bit of soap and water on a regular basis.

One of the wonderful things about practicing yoga online is that you can wear your pajamas if you wish! For all intents and purposes, any comfortable exercise clothing can be used and light layers are always best.

As it would affect your exercise session, it is best not to eat much within 2 hours of class time. Even then only a light meal is recommended. After class, eating a full meal (or a handful of super foods) is the best way to improve your metabolism.

Yes, there is typically relaxation music to enhance your yoga experience. Ultimately, individuals are encouraged to focus their attention inwards, however the background sounds are there to enjoy as you slip in and out of a deeper state of awareness.

After your class, if you are uncertain, you can ask Lori to help you determine if the class is suitable for you. You must however always listen to your body and avoid inverted postures if you have high blood pressure, are menstruating, are pregnant or have any eye, ear, nose or throat infections.

It is preferred that you commit to the full class time however you are welcome to pop on or off Zoom classes at any time. The relaxation at the end of class is an important integrated part of the practice, so please schedule accordingly.

Yes, Lori is available for private yoga sessions with students to help grow their practice and customize their wellness needs. The first session is 90 minutes and all subsequent appointments for these yoga and/or wellness consultations are 60 minutes.
