Recently the Body Harmony community lost a long time, loyal and trusty friend. It brings tears, not only because of the loss, but also because of what is unknown for the next world. What does the next world bring? Is there another dimension awaiting all of us? The inevitability of death will eventually bring questions of mortality for each of us, but it is something I have pondered and explored for quite some time. I have come to believe that there is an after world, where the essence of who we are carries on, indefinitely. This appreciation actually allows me to live this life more fully and with less fear, as I believe everything I am doing now karmically plays a part in the big picture. Plus, it means I have a lot of time to get it right. Years ago when I wasn’t sure what I believed (I guess I thought my days were numbered) there was certainly more anxiety. How on earth could I do everything I wanted before my time was up? I am much more content now, trusting that the spirit self goes on. This involves letting go of old thought patterns, identities and limitations. It is also conscious detachment to the everyday world and a sweet surrender to it all.
Wishing you an abundance peace and body harmony.
Namaste 🙏🏼

Yoga Therapy & The AfterlifeExploring the ConnectionYoga therapy, an integrative practice that combines traditional yoga techniques with modern therapeutic methods, is gaining recognition for its potential benefits in both physical and mental health. While it is primarily known for addressing physical ailments and stress, an intriguing dimension of yoga therapy explores its impact on perceptions of the afterlife. Central to many yoga traditions is the concept of the self, or atma, which is believed to transcend the physical body. According to these traditions, the true essence of an individual is eternal and continues to exist beyond physical death. Yoga therapy, with its focus on mindfulness, self-awareness, and inner peace, can play a significant role in how individuals approach and perceive the afterlife. Practitioners often report that regular yoga and meditation help them cultivate a deeper understanding of their inner selves. This heightened self-awareness may influence their views on death and the afterlife, fostering a sense of continuity and tranquility. By learning to detach from material concerns and embracing a sense of inner stillness, individuals may find comfort in the idea of an ongoing spiritual journey beyond this life. Moreover, yoga therapy’s stress-reducing techniques can alleviate the anxiety and fear associated with death. Through practices such as breath control, meditation, and gentle movement, individuals may develop a more serene attitude towards the inevitable transition from life. This can lead to a more peaceful mindset, potentially enhancing their overall well-being and preparing them to face the afterlife with greater equanimity. While yoga therapy is not designed explicitly to address concepts of the afterlife, its emphasis on self-awareness, inner peace, and stress reduction can positively influence how individuals perceive and experience the transition from life. By fostering a deep connection with the self, yoga therapy can help individuals approach the afterlife with greater clarity and calm.
